Law Share Drive automatically makes your remote files (stored on Law Share server) available as if they were stored in the local drive on your computer. Law Share Drive is used either instead of or in addition to the Law Share Sync App. By using Law Share Drive, the files being “shared” will not actually need to reside on your computer. It merely mounts the remotely hosted files as an extra drive on your computer without them actually being on your computer. This helps circumvent the need for the Mobile Device Management and Encryption at Rest requirements of the CJIS Security Policy when CJI resides on your device outside a secured environment.
You can perform all file operations – open, edit, save, move etc. – the same way you generally do on Windows PC or Mac.
Law Share Drive will automatically lock a file (aka check-out file) in server for editing. When a file lock is in place, others will not be able to save the file, preventing any conflicting changes to the file.
Law Share Drive makes all your remote files look and feel just like those saved on your hard drive hence it is very intuitive for end users to learn and use.
Law Share Drive offers compelling value for variety of agencies – value ranging from security/regulation to replacing a legacy system such as FTP, FileServer or Network shares.
By using Law Share Drive, agencies can limit offline copy of sensitive files on employee devices.
Law Share Drive can be used in Terminal server (Remote Desktop) environment and great fit for companies with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
Great for newer laptops with SSD hard disks which have limited disk capacity.
